PSB's Chinese New Year Party
On Chinese New Year Eve, after school-wide CNY celebrations, we came together to have our very own PSB CNY party! Energised by chocolate coins from school-wide celebrations, our enthusiasm contributed to the lively and warm atmosphere.
We kicked off this awesome party with an icebreaker that was planned by the SLTs! Try going around saying, “Darling, I love you, will you smile for me?”. And then hold your laughs as your partner replies, “Darling, I love you too, but I won’t smile for you.” Bet you laughed after 3 seconds of trying to maintain a poker face. The room was filled with our boisterous laughter as we tried (and failed, naturally) to remain expressionless while saying those cheesy lines.
Next, we rocked out to PSB’s Don’t Forget The Lyrics. Lyrics and tunes of hit songs, as well as Chinese New Year songs, were belted out. It was accurate to say some of us had some really strong vocals. Our memory was great too as we could remember most of the lyrics!
No CNY celebration is complete without the infamous Loh Hei. After splitting into two groups, each one crowded around a table, and once the signal was given, we gripped the chopsticks and started tossing the vegetables and crackers that were drizzled in various sauces. Well-wishes such as “get 4.0s yearly” and “good health” were called out as we mixed the ingredients.
Just like every PSB event, this CNY party did not go without board songs! After we filled our stomachs with Yusheng and various snacks, we sang along to board songs. Everyone went out of the room glowing with happiness, as well as full stomachs.
Shoutout to the PSLs of Human Resources for organising this wonderful party!
RU WEEK: SISTERS AT HEART DAY
Rafflesians Unite Week (RU Week), which is organised by Prefectorial Board on T1W8 this year, is a week about boosting school spirit, and by doing so they hope that the school spirit will sustain for a longer time than the week itself. On Sisters At Heart Day, we celebrate the friendships we have forged in RGS. There was a photobooth with emojis for students to take picture. A song dedication booth was also set up so friends can dedicate songs to each other!
PSB organised a segment in Sisters At Heart Day. The organising team manned a friendship bracelet making booth. We taught students how to braid a simple friendship bracelet to give to their friends. The best things in life often come in small gestures!
